Hello there. I was able to run MCM units on a particular computer before and after The Great Migration, but now I keep getting units failing with "computational error" show on the BOINC GUI and the log. See below log messages. I don't even want to try downloading more at this point on the affected computer so as to not waste computer time and bandwidth. Any hints appreciated.

I have no experience with Linux so I'll not be much help with you there. Although, the version (7.14.2) you are running is described on
https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php as being for "Windows 32-bit XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10". Further down the page are versions listed for Linux configurations. Keep in mind that I am not familiar with Linux, so YOUR installed version may be appropriate. (The information on the Berkley.edu web site was viewed today.) Have you tried to run any other WCG projects? Were any of those successful? Have you attempted to reinstall/repair your existing version of BOINC? Those are all the ideas I have at the moment, perhaps someone else will provide the key to your problem. Bruce |

If you want to inspect, please do: sudo bash It should show something like this: drwxr-xr-x. 1 boinc boinc 2100 Sep 15 11:05 .
Owner and group of the files and directories should be boinc. To repair, I suggest doing this: chown -R boinc:boinc ~boinc/ If you want to do a re-installation of the BOINC packages, that's fine, too. I was going to reinstall BOINC if all else fails, but thought to post here first in case it was a new bug I had found. But after trying the suggestions from Adri's post (following yours), it appears I had a file permissions issue going that left Boinc doing Daffy Duck's famous confused "who-what-where-huh?!" head-spinning. I plan to post the results of Adri's suggestions as a reply to his message, once I get to do a test download (and hopefully a test run).
