Minor graphical issue with WCG skin in BOINC client

Minor issue: if you use the WCG skin in the BOINC client, it still says "IBM" in the upper right corner. See the linked image. https://i.ibb.co/7X5D7Sn/WCG.png

Not only that, I'm also seeing (by the image that you provided) that the logo of WCG is (very) outdated there. It should be something like this:

I have no insight from what source the two logos are being placed there.

I expect they are in the client downloaded from WCG website so would need a new customised client to be built and downloaded.

Fairly certain WCG no longer offers a customized client..
After the website transition back in September, the WCG-themed executable was replaced by a standard BOINC executable.

Ah, I'm on 7.14.3, which I downloaded a while ago, and never got a notification about an updated client, even after the website transition. I'll grab the new version. Thanks!

Re: Minor graphical issue with WCG skin in BOINC client

I've just been asked to test the new generic BOINC package for Linux, v7.20.2

BOINC Manager has a 'Simple View', with customisations known as 'skins', which weren't previously displayed by the Linux version. They are now, and the WCG one looks like this:

That comes purely from the graphics files in BOINC's GitHub repository, which haven't been updated since IBM left the room. Eventually (no hurry), Krembil should liaise with BOINC and upload a new set of resource files.

Well, Richard, the link you provided above isn't exactly a link to a picture, the webpage that it addresses just contains a picture a.o.

If you have the link of the picture itself, it should work.

Hmmm, now lemme see … <copy> <paste> <clicketyclick> nerd

Et voilà! cool wink

Ta. I was doing it in Linux, which isn't my first language. Imgur usually has a one-click 'direct link', which pops it on the clipboard ready for use. Must have missed this time.
