Not sure what this impatience is all about. My machines have not skipped a beat since Feb 2022.
---------------------------------------- OK, it was not WCG. TN-Grid kept them running and happy. TN-Grid's current focus is on the Homo sapiens genome which is still health science. So for the impatient go to https://gene.disi.unitn.it/test/ to keep your machines busy. WCG will still try every hour or two to connect. When it does you are back in business. Check every once in a while to be sure. Then you can turn off the other projects. On the slowest machine I threw in some MilkyWay and a dash of Rosetta. MilkyWay is both astroinformatics and computer science; not my preferred project. I prefer our part of the Milky Way and not the part which is 100,000 light years away. I started doing gpu since WCG has been down. GPUGRID is biology. I also do Einstein @ Home. I don't like how Milkyway is slow at validating tasks. The gamma ray pulsar application on Einstein keeps a GPU busy while using only 1 cpu thread. Neal |

Einstein GRP4 GPU only uses a nominal amount of CPU so leaves a full set of CPU threads avaiable.

So for the impatient go to https://gene.disi.unitn.it/test/ to keep your machines busy. When I try to add a project using BOINC Manager, TN-Grid does not appear in the list of projects. If I paste https://gene.disi.unitn.it/test/ into the Project URL box, it says: This project is not currently accepting new accounts. You can add it only if you already have an account. But, using the invitation code on the main page to create an account at TN-Grid (ignoring instructions to use BOINC Manager instead), I'm able to successfully create an account, and then I have a password to register TN-Grid in BOINC Manager. It worked, and several WUs have been downloaded. Thanks for the information! |
