Whether your graph of Recent Average Credit runs around 700 (like mine) or 700,000, we will be equally traumatized by the temporary chasm in our graphs. But we'll get over it. Smooth sailing to the Transfer Team. Recommend a Hollywood film crew to document the undertaking. It sounds huuuuge. sending love to the credit chasers, who just want to see the numbers go up! Seconding your love to the teams - best of luck, I look forward to rejoining the project soon! ![]() |

Thank you for your understanding. "Preserving streaks" and honoring continued support Any streak that is active as of Feb 14th will be “transformed” to the date we go live. This will give returning volunteers an automatic extension to their streaks, in addition to a new badge of "surviving the outage". igor Thank you Igor! Good to know that the "streaks" will be preserved. A new badge of "surviving the outage", now that's a great idea. ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Feb 15, 2022 6:17:22 PM] |

Please allow a couple of days leeway for the continuation of streaks. We will be starting from nothing in the tank for all threads rather than having all threads at different stages.

Mike knreed writes about streaks: "The streak is based on the time you return a result successfully (which is somewhat under your control) and not based the time that your result was validated (which is not very much under your control). |

The odds are that WCG will restart part way through a day. Will that day count? Probably only the fastest machines would be able to start from zero and complete within that first day. It might be just possible for me if I prioritise the quickest units for the first day or so.
Also, we will all be running out of work on different days. When will the streaks be suspended? Mike |

Indeed - the idea is to preserve streaks for those that will stay with WCG - it is not your fault there is the planned outage.
we will communicate more as we will get closer to restart. thank you igor |

I would be interested in hearing how the stress test is going to be conducted. Will the team involve the WCG contributors or is it going to be a background only test? Without using wide open live data, how indicative will the test be?

The testing is expected to be done in-house first, to establish if there are any performance bottlenecks in the new environment that could impede achieving established performance levels. After that there should be testing with limited outside involvement, followed by more testing and other steps toward the restart of the projects.
