Getting too many WUs

Hey guys,

I set my cache locally to the default of 0,1/0,25 days.
Still WCG sent me around 950 OPN1 WUs and 50 ARP WUs (I disabled MCM).
The OPN1 WUs alone keep my 5950X busy for around 3 days.
I didn't do any other modifications.
Does someone know why it's sending me so many WUs?

Cheers

Re: Getting too many WUs

I don't know why, but in the settings, you should change the number of work units you would like and that will immediately solve the problem.

Re: Getting too many WUs

Do you use app max_concurrent in app_config.xml? If yes, try with no max_concurrent limits.

Bug with max_concurrent: https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/issues/4322
This bug happens with BOINC client version 7.16.20 and older with the use of app app_config. There is a fix, but a newer version is not yet released.

World Community Grid can limit number of tasks per app to reduce ths problem, but "OpenPandemics" limits both OPN1 and OPNG by the same number. Most other BOINC project servers with multiple apps have no option to limit max number of tasks. To completely avoid this bug, do not use app max_conturrent, until we get a newer BOINC client version with a fix.

Set your project limits to 64 or less in your device profile.

Thanks! Indeed I use max_concurrent to limit the number of ARP WUs.
It wasn't correct that I didn't change anything :-)
