That's twice *points* (that's *not* credits in any way, to make myself clear). And the numbers seem right (it's *not* credits in 'My activity over time'). So I'm afraid I'm not understanding your 'big inconsistency here'. Care to explain, Bobby? Yes of course. It was NOT aimed at you or about your post but about the site. Yes twice and even 3 or 4+ times if we count the data (CSV) we can download. They all lists points. Then we go to results and it says credits. Aha! Now I understand, Bobby, thanks. As far as I know, WCG is the only site that uses 'points' in such a way that they evaluate to 7 x 'credit'. Here is a post in French from 2009 that also explains the differences between points and credit. Provisional translation: Points are WCG's traditional unit of measurement (prior to Boinc), credits are Boinc's unit of measurement. Now that the old UD agent (that used points) is nothing more than a memory, WCG will soon convert all points into credits in order to use the unit of measurement which is the current standard, so that the statistics of WCG can be easily compared to those of other Boinc sites. Currently statistics sites such as BoincStats only show for WCG the credits acquired thanks to Boinc. The points acquired thanks to the UD agent are not yet counted in these sites. and The "exchange rate" between the two is 7 WCG points for 1 Boinc credit. I hope I'm not tearing old wounds, I've never used the United Devices (UD) agent. ![]() |

I went back to boincstats again and now I understand a bit more about those numbers. Could never relate to what was there.
----------------------------------------Since I'm here only since 2020 I never knew about UD.It could still be fixed when listing the results on this site but it is not really a priority. It would be just nice for consistency. I'll see if I can add them up. Agreed it should not change internally so as to be compatible to other boinc projects. Provisional translation I'm from Montreal so I can read French... .. but for they who cannot.roberto_sc: about that link to hardforum: if they talk electricity and such, remember they are using 110V in the US (and Canada) [Edit 1 times, last edit by BobbyB at Nov 4, 2021 3:37:48 PM] |

When I started on WCG, the united device agent was still available and my first contribution was also made with UD beside Boinc.
----------------------------------------I think that UD finally disappeared at the end of 2007. Outside of WCG, only boinc credits are reported. Cheers, Yves |
