A Question about the new web site:
Will our settings on the settings page stay as we have set them, or do we have to set them again? For example these settings: Communication Preferences My Profile Data Sharing |

Hello,
I'd like to be sure that fundamental principles that made up my mind to participate to world community grid will be kept, that is to say : - Humanitarian: Focused on solving problems to benefit humanity - Not for profit: Conducted by public or nonprofit organizations - Contributed to the public domain: all data generated by World Community Grid volunteers must be made freely available to the scientific community (https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/research/viewSubmitAProposal.do) Could you please confirm these principles will be kept during and after the transition ? I suggest this point should be currently highlighted on WCG website since a lot of people are surely concerned and anxious about it. Thanks by advance for your answer. Regards |

Lazasdal,
----------------------------------------All of that has been previously answered and yes, none of that will change. The core values/principles of WCG are not changing. AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

What effect will this move have to Scripps Research and the Covid-19 research?

What effect will this move have to Scripps Research and the Covid-19 research? As stated, current projects will continue to be supported. So, nothing should change. AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

Folks, I just moved another group of comments (not questions, not answers) to the Transition Talk thread. Please remember the instructions in the first post in this thread:
1. Read the article about the transition before reviewing the thread. 2. Read through the Q&A in this thread before posting a question to make sure that your question has not already been asked and answered. 3. This thread is meant to be a repository of information about the transition. There's a separate thread for commentary, plus you can always create your own. As always, we appreciate your help as we try to make information as easy to find as possible for all volunteers who come to the forum. |

I have a question about the download of the history from the overview page. I am able to download this text file and convert it to a form suitable for a spreadsheet. Now that I have done this a couple of times, I notice the figures for the categories of the projects on the recent dates change. Do the figures reflect the date the work unit is returned or the date the work unit is validated.
----------------------------------------For instance, if a work unit is returned on Monday, but validated on Wednesday does the history reflect the credit for that unit on the Monday or the Wednesday ? I would just like to increment my spreadsheet on a daily basis, but if information on previous dates change because a work unit becomes validated on the Wednesday, but the totals are reflected on the previous Monday, a daily increment will not work. (I have seen the rare work unit which has been returned promptly, but for what ever reason is not validated for a month or more. I can work with downloading the entire history and just plugging in the whole thing each day, but it would be easier to just increment a day or two at a time. Thanks for looking into this. Cheers
Sgt. Joe

Stg. Joe - the downloads should reflect the daily history (either your total daily history or your per project daily history). The totals should reflect the stat on the time that it was validated. The only thing that should change is if you pulled the stats after the mid-day update and then puled it the next day, then your prior days would have the 2nd half populated. If you are seeing something else then there is a bug.
Which download button did you click? I'll check it out with mine and see if I can recreate. |
