I run several BOINC projects and am glad to add this one.
----------------------------------------However, the key generated for my account has only 31 digits instead of 32. I even tried prefixing a 0 to it, but the key is still considered invalid: Project Date ID Message World Community Grid 11/02/05 10:20:02 1556 Message from server: Invalid or missing account key. Visit this project's web site to get an account key. Please, help. ![]() TIA ![]() |

Use the 31 digit account key and it should work.
I will examine why we are generating 31 digit account keys. |

The problem is actually in BoincView that I tried using to attach to several clients at the same time. It expects for a 32-digit key.
----------------------------------------Using Boinc Manager, I successfully attached to the project. Thanks. ![]() |

I found the problem. The fix will be deployed shortly.
Would you like me to add a leading zero to your account key? Kevin |

The leading 0 has been added. You now have a 32 digit account key which should work with BOINCView.
Please note that any clients that you currently have registered will state that they have an invalid account key next time they try to connect. You shold be able to change this on each device without having to reattach them by modifying the field 'authenticator' in the account_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml for each device. Let me know if that works. Kevin |

I also received an account key with 31 digits and have not been able to attach with BOINCView. Would you mind adding a zero for one more key?
Thank you! |

It's strange that i didn't hear complaints about this on other boinc projects.
I think WCG didn't change anything to the mechanism to assign these keys did they? |
