Adjusting preferences

Hello,
I'm glad the program is available for Linux now, but I have some difficulties with the preferences. I had a look at global_prefs.xml but I cannot find out what all these items mean:
<global_preferences>
<source_project>http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/</source_project>
<source_scheduler>https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/w...</source_scheduler>
<cpu_scheduling_period_minutes>60</cpu_scheduling_period_minutes>
<disk_interval>60.0</disk_interval>
<disk_max_used_gb>1.0</disk_max_used_gb>
<disk_max_used_pct>75.0</disk_max_used_pct>
<disk_min_free_gb>0.1</disk_min_free_gb>
<idle_time_to_run>3</idle_time_to_run>
<max_bytes_sec_down>0.0</max_bytes_sec_down>
<max_bytes_sec_up>0.0</max_bytes_sec_up>
<max_cpus>4</max_cpus>
<run_if_user_active/>
<vm_max_used_pct>75.0</vm_max_used_pct>
<work_buf_min_days>0.1</work_buf_min_days>
</global_preferences>

Does anyone know where these options are explained in some detail?

Re: Adjusting preferences

I would recommend that you not modify the file but rather that you go to this page:

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewProfiles.do

And select the BOINC profile that you wish to modify.

If you need information about what each field means there is good information about the fields at the following two websites:

http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=General_Preferences_Page
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/prefs.php

There are slight variations in terms and fields so please ask questions here if you need more information.

Re: Adjusting preferences

Bye the way, if you make changes in those XML's, the next time bionc contacts the server again i think they'll be changed again to what the server says.
