Re: Whet matters most?

Most work done regardless of whether it’s one thread doing 2x work or two threads doing 1x work makes no difference

I'll just get the best Ryzen I can if & when I'm able to replace my current PC wink

I've never really gave performance any thought all these years as all my clueless replies will allude LOL! And am sorry to everyone for adding examples like Threadripper that unless I win the lottery I won't be getting LOL!...

TY all for your replies smile

Re: Whet matters most?

RMc-Canada,
no problem, the reaction to your TR example comforts me regarding costs: I am not alone considering that it is not affordable for WCG purpose if not winning lottery prior buying it ...
Back to your initial question, I do really recommend you to consider the size of the Level 3 cache since large cache will significantly boost the computational power because the core will not have to wait for data coming from the "slow" RAM.
Cheers,
Yves

Re: Whet matters most?

Personally I buy what is the best solution for what I use it for.
I don't buy hardware just to crunch work units.
I buy hardware to game and work.
Running WCG is just my computers capacity when I am not using it.
