Lately I've been seeing some ARP1 tasks getting way too low credit. For fourteen tasks in Pending Validation state, thirteen of them have a 'normal' credit (between 564 and 714) and one of them has only been awarded 117.4 credits (on the same device) at first.
Another account is showing the same odd behaviour: two Valid tasks, one has 640 credits at first, the other one only 159 credits at first: workunit 768583830: ARP1_0034900_083_1-- Linux Ubuntu 727 Valid 8/4/21 02:50:12 8/5/21 03:27:07 15.44 463.5 / 552.0workunit 767611946: ARP1_0035608_078_0-- Linux Ubuntu 727 Valid 8/3/21 03:21:32 8/6/21 08:23:41 33.68 741.3 / 450.2Regarding the Pending Validation tasks, see here a 'normal' result …: workunit 770598181: ARP1_0024234_083_2-- Linux Fedora 727 Pending Validation 8/6/21 08:23:18 8/7/21 02:51:07 16.59 663.5 / 0.0… and some - in my opinion - abnormal ones, first one Pending Validation, then two already Valid: workunit 770298308: ARP1_0035220_078_1-- Linux Fedora 727 Pending Validation 8/5/21 18:32:36 8/6/21 09:46:04 14.84 117.4 / 0.0workunit 767625650: ARP1_0020827_079_2-- Linux Fedora 727 Valid 8/5/21 19:11:25 8/6/21 12:10:04 16.55 130.9 / 401.8workunit 768847437: ARP1_0019150_078_0-- Linux Fedora 727 Valid 8/4/21 09:13:58 8/5/21 04:10:48 17.07 135.7 / 416.6 |

I've seen this in the past as well and have a recent one for comparison to show it's not limited to Linux. All the below are on version 10.00.19043.00 of Windows 10.
----------------------------------------workunit 765549223: ARP1_ 0017784_ 078_2-- Microsoft Windows 10 727 Valid 8/5/21 13:12:59 8/6/21 11:01:09 18.67 574.2 / 348.2These are lengthy work units and having the credit reduced so heavily is indeed extremely frustrating. ![]() |

Indeed I noticed such variations as well.
----------------------------------------Without willing to restart a discussion regarding credit, there is definitively a consistency problem between the WCG projects (see MCM1 on Linux), between the hosts, between the WUs. Since I do participate to WCG only, I do not really care. Nevertheless, it is in some ways disturbing to observe such inconsistencies. As mentioned in other posts in the past, the problem seems to be less a WCG issue than a Boinc issue (by design). Cheers, Yves |

I agree 100%. Credits are way too low for this project considering the length of the runtimes. Proper credits for these long runtimes should be at least 4 times as much. Not worth my time and trouble at current credit rates.

I see that I'm also one of those people who are damaging credits for others:
https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/835526874 https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/834980823 My OCd 4.5 GHz Ryzen 5700g claims ~70 credits for 8 hours of CPU per WU, and the poor saps trying to claim ~460 credits for 8 hours of CPU have to settle for 265 points. Though it appears to be flipped for MCM WUs. I claim 80 credits where most are claiming 60. |
