Simply: Can I share only the 70% of my CPU usage?
----------------------------------------Because I'd like it to run every moment (not only as Screen Saver) but want the CPU to stay cooler, for example. And don't tell me that "It's not a problem, indeed" or "You can open the case", I know I could find other solutions, but I only want to know if it possible to limit to a xx% the shared CPU usage. Thank you boyz -- Mark ___________________________________________ You need some lovin', you must have the blues You ruined your mind baby, it's a good thing to do Do the shake, the rattlesnake shake... ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ [ This post has been edited for Profanity - knreed ] [Edit 1 times, last edit by knreed at Nov 4, 2005 3:22:30 AM] |

Mark,
It is possible to throttle the CPU usage. Have a look at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2683 which gives you full story. |

What you don't mention is are you running United Devices or BOINC??
----------------------------------------If BOINC the answer is no you cant really, BOINC is designed to run in the background all the time and not really to interfer with the day to day running of your computer. I use BOINC 24/7 and havent noticed a slowdown in any of the programs I use and my comp is fairly old |

Hello, I'm back now.
----------------------------------------Thank you all very much, the http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2683 answer perfectly my question. So exists exactly the feature I desired! Now I can only add one question: > What you don't mention is are you running United Devices or BOINC?? I really don't know what BOINC is, nor "United Devices". But I can read "United Devices" in the bottom right of my World Community Grid Agent. So if someone cares... The Windows agent software we are currently using is from a company called United Devices. The Linux agent software we are currently using is from a University of California Berkeley project called BOINC.
