Hello!
I recently switched my WCG machine to running just this project. April 19th was the first day that it did nothing but ARP for 24 hours, so my contribution history for today (which just finished being calculated an hour ago) reflects entirely ARP work units. Looking at my stats, however... the amount of run time I've been credited doesn't reflect what I've been running. I have a 24-core Threadripper 3960X, and am running 18 work units at a time, 24 hours a day... but my credited runtime for today was only 0:007:06:58:36. It also shows 20 results returned, which sounds about half of what it should be, given 18 simultaneous work units times 10-11 hours per work unit. What could be going on here? I also just noticed that under Results Status, I have 60 ARP units in Pending Validation status, some going back to 4/17. Could that be related? Thanks! |

Hmm, ok. I do wonder about that too, because my main "My Contribution" page shows only 17 work units for AFP, even though I did 20 work units during 4/19. (I'm pretty sure I flushed out all other projects during the 18th.) Do you know if units, once validated, are credited back to the day when you processed them, or as part of the day when they were validated?
I suppose I could just wait and find out... ![]() |

From my experience they are credited to your account on the day they turn valid.

'Credit' applies to all statistical parts, i.e. runtime, points AND result counts wont be incremented to your stats until validated.

And also the stats will not be updated until the next noon or midnight GMT (UTC).

Ok, that does seem to be all it was. I see more coming in now, although, still not quite a whole days' worth (18 cores 24 hours a day). It seems like it just takes a long time to verify these WUs. There are still 60 that I have in Pending status. Poked around in there... do WUs not get verified until both recipients return their results? That would explain it I guess, since a TR 3960X can return work more quickly on average than a basic system with way fewer cores.

Yes, you have to wait for the wingman to validate your work. And if he fails then you have to wait for the re-send to be returned. You will always have some pending. Why not run all 24 cores? ARP uses a large amount of your machine during checkpoints and upload but there is no reason that you can't run smaller units such as OPN1 or MCM alongside your ARP units. Mike |

That system has 24GB of RAM and I also run two GPU projects on it (MilkyWay most of the time), so I'm generally maxed out. I'll probably buy another 8GB stick pretty soon and expand things from there.
