Geeze, I think we already drained the well. laughing

24 Nvidia tasks finished and uploaded. GTX980 is out of work.
1 iGPU task finished and uploaded, 1 running now, and 2 still in the cache.

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Mine on Lenovo1 Intel-GPU appear similar to Rickib's.
The first I aborted after overnight run shows several re-starts then hang.
Re-starts likely due to have run while in-use NO, now yes and not logged on to that PC.
The second I aborted after 8 hours and appears just hung in first job.
Edit: freed a CPU for second in case that was issue.

Extract from first log:

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Got about 20 more OPNG WUs across 3 different hosts.

A handful on my Macbook Pro, which error out in no time, again.

On the other two machines, they run an average of half an hour CPU time with a while sitting in PVa jail with 0.4 claimed credit, each... cool

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Got about 120 on different hosts equipped with Nvidia or Intel. All went well, no errors so far.
Only the credits are a joke. This must be fixed to be competitive with other BOINC GPU projects out there.
Thank you @uplinger for your kind consideration.

Pending validation: 76 on 9 GPUs. No errors, but downloads were limited and sometimes slow. The upload server was often unavailable for short periods.

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

2 of my Windows 10 Intel laptops picked up work yesterday. When I got up this morning both machines had gone into standby an needed to be restarted. Seem to be running O.K now and several units are now in PV.

From now on, I'll bow out of this Beta test, and wait for the production release of the final apps.

I've done 209 successful tasks during the different GPU Beta runs, most on GTX980, but a fair amount even on my iGPU HD4600. Even some that failed on older GPU's.

Looking forward to the full production release.

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

I would like to get feedback from other volunteers about their experiences so far relating to SSD activity during the computation of these gpu WUs. Personally, I saw a huge spike in overall activity while running 4 WUs at a time across 2 gpus. The spikes in SSD write activity were directly corrected with the spikes in gpu ultilization, so it seems that after job that is packaged within a given gpu WU induces the final result to be written to the SSD. If the general notion of my thought here were to be true, it would seem a little excessive given the overall short runtimes. Isn’t there a way to reduce this? Caching multiple results in the meantime....

Open to any suggestions as to how to deal with this on the client side :)

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Also, do the gpu WUs count as one result on the contribution page or are they adding the number of jobs in them to the stats?
