Re: Saying Goodbye

Hi OldChap. Thank you for a huge contribution to the grid and to these forums. Thank you for joining my team for a while. I felt you did all of it in good spirit and with a warm hart.
I hope you have many enjoyable days left with your family and friends.

Re: Saying Goodbye

Hey OldChap,

I'm so sorry to hear about your cancer, my thoughts go out to you and your family. I'd just like to say thank you - for all the support, contributions, leadership, and guidance you've given to me. It was because of you that we were able to reach the goal, and I can't thank you enough for that. Sending good wishes.

-Sawyer

PS - Hi OldChap. Sawyer's mom, here, Susan. We only just read your February post and our hearts are heavy. Please know that you have three Thompsons in America sending you all the prayers, white light, and good juju in the world. I can't thank you enough for all you've done to help Sawyer. Sawyer started down this road so he could help his dad and make a difference. The community he found here, and especially the chance to meet you and Little Mermaid, has given him a tribe. Cancer can be so isolating. Feeling like he is part of something larger has been wonderfully uplifting to him. Thank you for showing him what is possible. We are grateful for you.
With love, Susan

Re: Saying Goodbye

My thanks to everybody for the kind words and appreciation.

I am glad you found this Sawyer, glad on a number of levels.
Back then I was feeling well and feeling that my experience might guide you forward in your objective and hoping you might see that all is not written in stone on pronouncement of "C" The big C.

Unfortunately now you are also seeing that the goal posts can move as they have for me as I sit thinking that now I am looking at weeks of useful life then a few more of what I consider an exercise in futility keeping me alive for longer.

Thank you too Susan for your thoughts. My actions seem to have worked as planned then and for that I am happy. Your family is among those closer to mine in my heart and I truly hope you get the years together that I shall miss.

We can only play the cards we get dealt and I Like to think I did OK on that front.

"No one is actually dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away."

A Terry Pratchett quote That I hope holds true for me and I hope the folks here think of me when running WCG and keep making those ripples

All my best wishes to a forum full of people with the right stuff in helping others

Mike

Re: Saying Goodbye

OldChap, I add my best wishes to the long list above.

Enjoy the limited time you have left with your family, and live in the hope you are in the last 25% - those who get a little longer.

I don't come on here much these days, but I miss the chats we used to have as a team and individually...

Warmest regards

M

Re: Saying Goodbye

A few days in hospital with an infection so now another recovery period needed to re hydrate etc.
Each time I am glad to be home but each time I am aware of the things I am losing. Having family around is Guuud medicine
