Emails to my team captain have gone unanswered for over 10 years. Stats show the captain's last posted results more than a year ago. The team roster has shrank continuously since the teams formation in 2005 as I suspect other members also have gotten no response and the remaining members aren't able to communicate with each other.
I've thought about changing teams but hoped the original could some how be salvaged with it's long history. Should I change teams? (will I lose my historic stats?) Could a remaining active member be promoted to captain? Is there some other choice available? Thanks for any feedback. |

And, yes, another member can take up the reigns, I think it’s easier if the existing captain is still around to cooperate but I think it can be done without. |

Have you considered becoming team captain yourself? Yep, that would be ok if it turns out to be an option. But, I don't want to start a "mutiny" unnecessarily. :) I found a mention in another thread about "captain comm" problems and also sent a message to the support address they posted. |

Then pm the existing team captain but it (s)he’s not posted in how long then it sounds like it would be a welcome release. |

Well as mentioned above, no reply to any, and many emails sent recently or in many years.
----------------------------------------The last message initiated by the captain I can recall was no later than 2010. I'm probably being generous with that date. (2008-2009?) So how rough of a job is it? In fairness, none of my messages came with the explicit title... "Hey! Please let me relieve you of captain duties!" lol However at least one was a soft suggestion several years ago to allow me to help or share. Can't hurt to try one more time with a more direct approach I guess. [Edit 1 times, last edit by tsilvey at Feb 1, 2021 10:04:20 PM] |

There is not currently a captain of your team, or the captain of the team has not opted-in to receive E-mails from members of the team Well that's a well built road block right there. I don't recall if I was presented with that message last time I tried. (probably some time early 2020) So if they have truly exited the building (maybe joined another team?), It's probably not going to be a big deal to hand the keys to someone else. |

On another project i contribute to you can click on the team name and one of the options is “team foundership change” - “initiate request”. Apart from the bad English it could be a useful starting point. |

Thanks for that tip. I found reference to that option associated with projects like folding and roseta, but unfortunately not specifically for boinc teams.
I guess I'll just have to keep watching for any reply from the W.C.G. support address I sent a message to. |

Go into Rosetta, click on your user name to get into your account then click on your team name and it’s under team info. It relates to the team overall and not just Rosetta. I have exactly the same problem with my team and I’d love to step up but I’m not around half the year and cannot guarantee the time needed. My team and my only account were founded here at WCG. I have no others.
