I received an error message on a MIP1 result that was turned in.
(unknown error) - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005)</message> However Windows 10 Pro registered the problem as an application error within the BOINC Agent as follows: Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 10/7/2020 5:57:19 PM Event ID: 1000 Task Category: (100) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: Description: Faulting application name: wcgrid_mip1_rosetta_7.16_windows_intelx86, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x59f8b5d1 Faulting module name: wcgrid_mip1_rosetta_7.16_windows_intelx86, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x59f8b5d1 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x004cdf73 Faulting process id: 0x2040 Faulting application start time: 0x01d69d0df8fd030b Faulting application path: C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org\wcgrid_mip1_rosetta_7.16_windows_intelx86 Faulting module path: C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org\wcgrid_mip1_rosetta_7.16_windows_intelx86 Report Id: 20c826b8-b5a2-44f8-a2b2-e22a70b3610a Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Event Xml: <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Version>0</Version> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Opcode>0</Opcode> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2020-10-08T00:57:19.9149378Z" /> <EventRecordID>16066</EventRecordID> <Correlation /> <Execution ProcessID="0" ThreadID="0" /> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>Chuck-Desktop-xxxx</Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data>wcgrid_mip1_rosetta_7.16_windows_intelx86</Data> <Data>0.0.0.0</Data> <Data>59f8b5d1</Data> <Data>wcgrid_mip1_rosetta_7.16_windows_intelx86</Data> <Data>0.0.0.0</Data> <Data>59f8b5d1</Data> <Data>c0000005</Data> <Data>004cdf73</Data> <Data>2040</Data> <Data>01d69d0df8fd030b</Data> <Data>C:ProgramDataBOINCprojectswww.worldcommunitygrid.orgwcgrid_mip1_rosetta_7.16_windows_intelx8 6</Data> <Data>C:ProgramDataBOINCprojectswww.worldcommunitygrid.orgwcgrid_mip1_rosetta_7.16_windows_intelx8 6</Data> <Data>20c826b8-b5a2-44f8-a2b2-e22a70b3610a</Data> <Data> </Data> <Data> </Data> </EventData> </Event> Additional data is available but I find no designated forum or HELP options to report such errors. Rather FORUMS seem to reflect a question/answer narrative format and I don't see Windows Applications Issues and I have not joined the BOINC Forum. |

Maybe the Boinc log might suggest something to someone lurking.
Gerenally Exception code: 0xc0000005 is a memory access exception fetching memory outside a permitted limit like protected memory of the kernel or outside its address space. I know this is not much help and I did an internet search (but did not Google it) and found nothing interesting. So is Boinc doing anything. |

Thank you. Will keep this in mind and see if it becomes an issue. Never saw this failure mode before.
