Hi All,

Re: Project requested delay of 121 seconds

Post a section of event log with everything in between these

7/15/2020 2:00:09 AM | World Community Grid | Project requested delay of 121 seconds
7/15/2020 2:23:27 AM | World Community Grid | Project requested delay of 121 seconds
7/15/2020 2:33:27 AM | World Community Grid | Project requested delay of 121 seconds

Normally these lines are standard, the client being told not to contact the server in the next 2:01 minutes from the present contact.

Hi Lavaflow,

And which windows log do you refer to that you would like to see?
application and system logs show nothing related to this application or connection.

Cheers!

Re: Project requested delay of 121 seconds

Same place you got those log lines from in BOINC, the Event Log (Ctrl+Shift+E shotcut)

Re: Project requested delay of 121 seconds

Thinking about your reply, is there a cc_config.xml file in the BOINC data directory? If there is, can you post a copy of the content? Default on Windows that would be located at C:\ProgramData\BOINC, the path if different will normally be printed at the start of the event log when BOINC is launched.

Edit: A similar discussion was here some months ago to include restoring the cc_config.xml to defaults: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=13651

Re: Project requested delay of 121 seconds

Ok, the flags in options saved does indeed improve the download visibility in the log. However, I would expect to get jobs dated 10 days in the future in my task list when I get new tasks (according to the log I did get a couple). However, no jobs with deadline 25-7... keeps being an interesting one this.... :)

Re: Project requested delay of 121 seconds

ah, I checked on another client with the same issue. There I saw that the deadline date for new jobs was set to 22nd... So actually everything works fine just no longer 10 days in the future, the deadline, but 7.

Re: Project requested delay of 121 seconds

Deadlines vary per science, as what the doctors prescribe. There are with 10, with 7, with 1 day, yes, Beta I think is 4 still, and repair tasks for each project get a deadline of half of the original time with the exception of HSTb which I think gets the original deadline on repairs too.
