WCG is only an intermediary, sends work to volunteers, aggregates the returned results and then sends the completed batches or whatever blocks of results back to the scientists wherever they are on the planet, by which time, big lapse time, the data is likely already anonymized entirely and if they don't they'd probably be already at odds with e.g. EU legislation.

Let me narrow your view down to volunteers having opted in to compute for XYZ project/science, not a license to megaphone the volunteer's name around.
