What is the actual weighting of the different parameters?
Does the HD space just do the amount of VM that can be allocated? Because I have 40 GB free but it says I only have 0.98 GB of storage. My overall is 142, with processor at 194, memory at 134, storage at 20, and network at 100. If somebody 3 other people post their numbers, we can solve the equations, assuming they're linear. :) Here is a description of points, but they don't say the weights: Points The calculation of Points is the method World Community Grid uses to calculate your contribution to our Internet Distributed Computing projects. First, the "strength" of your participating machine(s) is calculated by measuring the following parameters of your machine against the World Community Grid Comparison Device: For example, a comparison/conversion of your current local time (as reported by your system) to UTC: • CPU power • Random Access Memory (RAM) • Allocated and available hard disk storage space • Effective downsteam throughput from the World Community Grid Servers to the World Community Grid Agent The strength of the machine is then multiplied by the effective CPU time used to complete the work unit and successfully return the results to the World Community Grid Servers. Any parameter can overachieve the like parameter on the World Community Grid Comparison Device. However, the maximum value of your machine's overall strength will be capped at twice the value of the World Community Grid Comparison Device strength. |

Hi there,
If you login to the member area and select my devices (from the menu on the left) You can create new profiles for your machines, increasing the amount of disk space to use etc. These dont update till your finished a work unit however, this will increase the score for your machine, in turn increasing the points you recieve per work unit completed. Hope this helps. G |

I guess it's not different from grid.org's point system:
Points = Task CPU time (in hours) * Overall score / 5 (Some say / 5.1, it's a little unclear how the rounding happens) The value of Overall rating is calculated by the following formula. Processor*0.4 + Memory*0.25 + Storage*0.05 + Network*0.3 READ ME -=- Device Information Ratings Calculations http://forum.grid.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=8829 |
