Suspend when computer in use not working correctly

I've been contributing since October of last year, and the Boinc client has always worked fine.

But in the last couple of weeks, after suspending while I was using my computer, the client doesn't resume after the preset amount of time which is 2 minutes. I've been watching my tasks window & task manager for 60 minutes today, and all of the tasks saying "Suspended - computer in use". The CPU usage has only been 1-2% the entire time, and I haven't touched the mouse or keyboard.

Previously the 2 minute suspension worked fine, and I haven't changed anything in my Computing Preferences.

I am using Windows 10 on an AMD 3900x CPU.
My Boinc client is version 7.14.2 (x86)
My Computing Preferences are
* Use 100% of CPUs, 100% of the time
* Suspend when computer in use
* ... in the last 2 minutes
* Suspend when non-BOINC usage is above 10%

Also I have no Daily schedules ... should run as above 24 hours a day.

Can someone help me figure out what has gone wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Suspend when computer in use not working correctly

Vaguely remember faulty mouse or game controller [software] being one of the causes. Unplug them and see what happens.

Lavaflow ... you hit the nail on the head! I've been enjoying XPlane every evening for the last few weeks, and it requires ... a joystick! I never would have imagined that a joystick would cause Boinc problems, but that seems to be the case. I unplugged it and about two minutes later task manager went to 100% as it should.

I've played with it a little more, and Boinc won't kick in until 2 minutes after I unplug the joystick.

Thanks for your quick reply and great suggestion!
