Hello,
I've recently joined WCG and am pleased to contribute in any way I can. I notice that the minimum quorum for the Mapping Cancer Markers project is set to 3. However, for others like Smash Childhood Cancer and Microbiome Immunity Project, it is set to 1. I was curious to know why MCM requires a minimum quorum of 3 when other projects can work with 1? Are these factors that make certain project more resilient to errors in computation while others like MCM need to rely on a multi result quorum? Do MCM work units receive a significant number of results that fail validation that it has required almost 400,000 years of computational effort to result in a quorum (assuming it has always been 3 for the total run time of the project -- 596488 years)? |

MCM quorum is not 3, but 2. You will see 3 tasks for the same workunit when 1 has failed, or went overdue on the deadline, etc.

SCC is quorum 2 until a host delivers 15 (think it's still 15) valid results, after which it is 1. It's rolling, the last N valid for the quorum 1 projects. Turn in an error and the count starts fresh. |
