Congratulations WCG for this great and important milestone. It's important to point out the important work done by all the scientists, technicians, managers, doctors, programmers, project managers, and specially the crunchers. Congrats to all !!! Now, let's go for the next million of years runtime

Thanks to everyone for your kind wishes. We had originally planned a big celebration for this milestone, but given the tragic and frightening circumstances the world is in this will obviously be deferred. We are very grateful to every volunteer and researcher, past and present, who has supported humanitarian scientific research through distributed computing. We appreciate each of you. I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally appreciate the opportunity to contribute to scientific research. I don't have the hardware to contribute a LOT - but 50 days of runtime is far better than 0, in my book. Thanks for the hard work on your end - keep up the good work - lets find some cures! ![]() |

It all matters. When I started with BOINC, I had 1 Pentium 4 at 2.4 Ghz (1 core) and a laptop with an Intel dual core at 1.86 GHz. Now I have a lot more but obviously the few years of computing I did were important. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |
