Over the past two weeks, I noticed that my work task completion percentages reset to 0% every day, even though they are supposed to simply resume where I left off the previous day. I am running version 7.14.2 (x86) on a Windows 10 laptop. Any ideas to help? Thank you!

I'm running the Microbiome Immunity Project now (these are the only tasks that I have been given for the past month or two). This problem only started in the past few weeks. Thanks.

Strange. Those tasks checkpoint fairly frequently.
----------------------------------------Can you open BOINC in Advanced View (View-Advanced view), go to tasks, click on one of the affected tasks and select properties and check how much time it says on "CPU Time" and "CPU Time since checkpoint". Please also post elapsed time. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

Also please post the event log lines (In Advanced View - Tools - Event Log)

Totally unfamiliar with this log line
----------------------------------------"Setting up project and slot directories" Somehow does not bode well. Edit: The answer might be hiding in this post https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=288878 talking about RPC permissions and ports, and essential piece for BOINC to operate. How long is the computer on for each day?
----------------------------------------Do you actively use it for other work or is it a dedicated cruncher? Do you have "Leave non-GPU tasks in memory when suspended" checked? I would guess that you simply aren't getting to checkpoints. I believe that MIP checkpoints are based on the WU and will vary, so you may have a set where the initial checkpoint is very long. If you are interrupting the computations before getting to the checkpoint, when you begin the next day there will be no checkpoint to resume from. |

I use the computer most of the day, but I only have this program running in the evening (when electricity rates are lower). This has been the case for years, though. When I shut the computer each night, some of my tasks are at 20% and some are at 80%, but they all reset to 0% the next day.
And yes, I have always had the "Leave non-GPU tasks in memory when suspended" checked. Somehow, the problems I am experiencing have only begun in the past month, though I haven't changed anything on my computer. Perhaps the newest Windows 10 update messed things up somehow? |

Yes, it sounds like it is a checkpoint problem (i.e., you aren't making it to the first MIP checkpoint). To confirm this hypothesis, check the task properties before you shut off tonight.
----------------------------------------Look for: (example from a task I have running now) CPU time 00:07:07 CPU time since checkpoint 00:07:07 The CPU time since checkpoint is the critical feature for you before you close for the night. If you haven't hit any checkpoints, the CPU and CPU time since checkpoint will be the same. |
