Hello,
I'm going to start running some Start Childhood Cancer work units, but I'm having trouble adding the app to my app_config file. What is the correct App Name? I've tried scc1 and scc, and for both of those, I'm getting the "Your app_config.xml file refers to an unknown application 'scc1'" error in my Boinc Manager Notices. Thanks, Tom |

Thanks for your quick reply, Viet02.
----------------------------------------I did try scc1, and for some reason, my boinc manager doesn't seem to like it. I ignored the error message in my boinc manager notices tab, and boinc is running the number of apps that I want it to. Strange but it seems like that notice is incorrect. Thanks again. If you haven't downloaded any work yet, your client doesn't know anything about that application. Download some SCC work and that message will go away.

Until that download takes place, your machine doesn't know anything about scc1, so get the download.
For information normally the code is the 3 alpha characters of the project name with a 1 to make a 4th character in the string. The exceptions are fahb and beta, which I believe was beta27 at the last count, although I have never restricted beta. Mike Mike |

With SCC starting back up, I had to add an app config file to one machine, and decided to do it from scratch. I accidentally used a wrong tag (I used "<project_name>" instead of "<name>") and it returned an error that it did not recognize the name of the project. I guess it looks for that "<name>" tag first thing, and if it doesn't see it, it just returns that error. So, halldor, definitely make sure you've downloaded at least one file for the project, and then also double check your tags to make sure there's no typos or mistakes in the tags. Good luck!

All that happens with a broken tag set is that the control does not take effect i.e. the SCC jobs will start in FIFO overall rather than just for the specific science.
