Throughput Throttled Until a Storage Space Solution is Found You put a statement without quoting any source. I think - it is my opinion - that it is not OK, especially because your statement is relatively provocative and the added emoji makes it aggressive in some way. We do not have all the terms of the equation regarding the needed (?) expansion of the storage capacity. It is just my opinion. Yves |

Yes, IBM could put more money towards arp, but this is not an IBM project. It is supported by IBM and all of us, but it is not actually IBM's project. It is supported by the charitable side of IBM rather than the company itself, along with other projects. It is up to them how much they put towards each project and we should be grateful that they put some towards this project instead of moaning.

They're providing so little support that they're slowing down project completion.
I guess it's easier for several contributors to scold me for noticing then to to scold them for failing to provide appropriate support for this project. Y'all are the harbingers of a new gilded age. |

Sounds like IBM is not the source of the problem. The researchers did not recognize the epic power of WCG.

Dayle,
----------------------------------------where does your statement come from (source) regarding IBM supposing to throttle ARP because of missing storage space on WCG side? I don't know why your are fighting so aggressively without providing any references. Yves |

It would be nice if this developed into a business where they could pay us to be their supercomputer.Mike ![]() ...KRI please cancel all shadow-banning |

Dayle No-one seems to be backing you up here! Mike I'm backing him up.... He has a valid point. It isn't possible to judge whether or not the point is valid without being able to evaluate the claims being made. It is possible I missed it elsewhere, but I haven't seen any evidence or data showing throttling, to say nothing of throttling due to lack of storage space. I would caution against using consumer storage prices to judge how much back-end server storage for WCG costs. They are not equal. Especially if WCG is using an IBM mainframe storage solution. (I don't know if they are or not) |
