i have a laptop with 8 cores and when wcg is started, it starts 8 tasks to run
this makes my cpu very busy and the fan is running high/noisy is it possible to specify the nbr of tasks to be started to be limited to 4 only thanks for all update/help best regards, Guy |

Go to settings , Device Manager, Choose your profile that you are using, In advanced, set number of processors to 50%.. That should do it.

checked also in client and option indicates

Soooo? Of course you ticked that option in the BOINC Manager's Activity to 'Run based on preferences', now did yah, and still running full out. Puzzling.

Check to see in the WCG program if you chose options there... Options, computing preferences...

and computing settings : as indicated before checked also in client and option indicates use at most 50% cpu use at most 50% cpu time best regards, Guy |
