Preferences being ignored

I have 1 Linux machine set up to receive HST, FAH2 and ARP tasks. Now when it up dates it no longer asks for APR tasks. I have checked preferences on the website and they are correct. Been here 11+ years and never seen this before. The windoze machines are not seeing this issue.
Log:
Office-Linux1

131 World Community Grid 1/16/2020 1:01:58 PM Requesting new tasks for CPU
134 World Community Grid 1/16/2020 1:01:59 PM No tasks sent
135 World Community Grid 1/16/2020 1:01:59 PM No tasks are available for Help Stop TB
136 World Community Grid 1/16/2020 1:01:59 PM No tasks are available for FightAIDS@Home - Phase 2
137 World Community Grid 1/16/2020 1:01:59 PM No tasks are available for the applications you have selected.
138 World Community Grid 1/16/2020 1:01:59 PM Tasks are committed to other platforms

Re: Preferences being ignored

@nanoprobe, have you seen the new settings for the number of work units to download? They are in Device Profiles. In addition to ticking which projects you want, there are now options for how many work units for each project.

It's been set to unlimited since the project started. What that is set to should not matter. The update request should still ask for tasks. I have it set to a limited amount of FAH2 tasks and it still requests them even if the amount I allow has already been reached.

Re: Preferences being ignored

The clue is message "Tasks are committed to other platforms".
It is asking but the only ARP tasks in the feeder are not for Linux but probably Windows.
With so few available this is quite common.

I've seen that message before but IIRC it would still ask for ARP tasks even with that message.

Re: Preferences being ignored

Here is my latest log. The profile is set to ask for
ARP: 15
SCC: Unlimited
MCM: 10
and it has 10 of both ARP and MCM:
World Community Grid | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
World Community Grid | Requesting new tasks for CPU
World Community Grid | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
World Community Grid | No tasks sent
World Community Grid | No tasks are available for Smash Childhood Cancer
World Community Grid | No tasks are available for Mapping Cancer Markers
World Community Grid | No tasks are available for the applications you have selected.
World Community Grid | Tasks are committed to other platforms

So, it asked for SCC and got none because there aren't any; MCM and got none because it already has 10; and ARP -- even though it didn't say so -- but got none because they are committed elsewhere.

So the messages aren't quite what you might expect. C'est la guerre.

Re: Preferences being ignored

Apis

We have discussed the issue of inaccurate messages in the past but have got nowhere.

Think yourself lucky that you have 10 arp. I have got up to 3. I had a brief spike over the holidays but they soon went. Much of the time I have none.

Fixed it for the Techs.
