I notice that the total for all time number and current number for member count in the team statistics page
www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewStatsByTeamAT.do?sort=members do not match the same numbers in the link to the details page for a team (My Team Team information ) in that list. I know it's not an important info but the right number should nonetheless be established. |

Hello,
There is a difference in the statistics because GDPR regulations require member information to be removed if certain criteria is met after a period of time. Member information being removed from the database is what makes the totals different. We are aware of this inconsistency in the statistics, and have it on the backlog to discuss in the future. Thank you for your support, ErikaT |

So we forget about these stats. Luckily authorities have exemption from this to keep track of population. Census is also likely to be exempted from GDPR.

Member information being removed from the database is what makes the totals different. Of course, member information being removed should *not* make any difference to team information. The work was done and was attributed to the team. The WCG method of removal is, effectively, rewriting the past and invalidates every piece of team data. Can you imagine if WCG ran a bank? ... Customer: Why did you withdraw $1000 from my account? WCG: We no longer keep data on the person who transferred that $1000 to you 10 years ago, so we took it back. |

If contributions are removed from the team, it represents an over-interpretation of GDPR.
----------------------------------------The contribution of members not willing to share information shall be "attribute" to a generic member of the particular team and not be removed from the team statistics. GDPR requires only that people shall freely agree to share data and that data can be stored. In order not to jeopardize the consistency of reports and statistics, the data must be at least pseudonymized. We already had this discussion 2 years ago Yves |

Don't think the totals at WCG are affected, not team, not project, not overall. |
