Fighting climate change

Hello,
this is a difficult topic and I hope that most of you share my concern regarding climate change. Climate change is due to the anthropogenic effect, it's us, humans, that are affecting it (I will not respond to deniers, I hope there are not too many here).
In the past, WCG did some research regarding photovoltaic cells with the "Clean energy project". As I can see, it was a material science project to find new materials to use to convert solar energy to electric current. It was a great project but it ended.
It's my opinion that to fight climate change, we need new sources of energy, more efficient, possibly renewable (I also sustain nuclear power but many countries don't want to use them for the NYMBY problem).
We need also decarbonization technologies and new types of batteries.
In this sense, I think that WCG could help scientists to run their research to find new solutions and new materials. The topics could be many like photovoltaic, batteries, plasma physics (for fusion), chemistry for type 4 fission reactors (simulations of the interactions of melted salts with ceramic materials).
So, what's the opinion of the heads in WCG? What are the projects for the future?
I know about the Africa rain project, but this is more a climate model, useful but there is also so much more we need to do.

Re: Fighting climate change

It's somewhat far fetched but there was a mention of quantum chemistry on the BOINC radio channel (look earlier in this Chat forum). They say it would be useful in such projects. Quchempedia or the like. I am interested but may not have the power to process their work.

Re: Fighting climate change

I hadn't heard that the Quantum Chemistry project may help but it makes sense. It's a CPU project with a smooth running native Linux app. They're still learning how to run the windows app in a virtual catbox.

This sounds great! I cannot find it yet in the "add project.." tab in my boinc manager but I hope to find it there soon. Nonetheless, there are also many other things that could be done, here also at WCG.

Don't entrust your cats to any boxes where quantum theorists are around!

When you go to Add Project just paste this URL into the Project URL box and it finds it automatically. I doubt it will ever show up on the list.

Yes, you may find you know too much about its momentum.

It would seem that in view of the smoke in Australia that the atmospheric aerosol project might come to the fore. Could we see another localized phenomenon like the ozone hole?

So you won't engage someone who has a different point of view than yours? I didn't read anymore of your post after that statement. PC/narrow minded people have no clue.

Climate change is real, what I deny is that we cause it, or can prevent it.
