Howdy,
We can not give the generations needed as the researchers perform analysis on the results and let us know when they are getting close to being complete. The last set I think ended up being north of 185. However, for the results to be close to completion, some may be on generation 200, and some still at 180. There is no hard line. Thanks, -Uplinger |

So the way I see it we have 5000 threads each with about 200 iterations so that will be about 100,000 total work units. With the recent average of about 1200 WUs per year of runtime that should translate into about 80 years of runtime.
Do I have that about right? |

Actual numbers speak to different means... 1st day 12.689 units, not 5000, for 8:224 years or near 1500 per computing year. The computer mix keeps getting stronger.

I was surprised to see 3 WUs for FAH2 running on my computer. So I'll do my best to get them done by tomorrow mornings deadline given I'll be out to Church and Christmas party this afternoon that will likely not get done till late.

Actual numbers speak to different means... 1st day 12.689 units, not 5000, for 8:224 years or near 1500 per computing year. The computer mix keeps getting stronger. The first generation we send out all at one time. This means we sent out 10k. Most of those came back within the first 24 hours. We were able to send back some of second generations out and got those back within that first day. We will see at most 5k on the grid at one time. BUT, that does not mean we will have 5k results per day....if someone returns a result it gets put on the wubq and one gets popped off after processing for the next generation. If someone is able to complete a work unit within 6 hours, and next generation gets completed within the remaining 18 hours of the day, then we would show 2 in one day. My guess is, we will see an average of about 7k results completed per day...that is only a guess though, it'll vary per day. I hope this helps explain some of the numbers you have seen. Thanks, -Uplinger |

I hope this helps explain some of the numbers you have seen. Thanks, -Uplinger I suppose the bold numbers are the generations: FAH2_ 002736_ zinc16392452_ 000003_ 000070_ 005_ 0-- FAH2_ 002742_ zinc67834485_ 000004_ 000061_ 003_ 0-- FAH2_ 002722_ zinc00221636_ 000002_ 000066_ 002_ 0-- FAH2_ 002733_ zinc12317682_ 000001_ 000013_ 002_ 0-- FAH2_ 002745_ zinc96162503_ 000001_ 000083_ 002_ 0-- FAH2_ 002722_ zinc00221636_ 000003_ 000041_ 002_ 0-- FAH2_ 002735_ zinc16286661_ 000002_ 000045_ 002_ 0-- |

Crystal Pellet,
You would be correct. As you can see with something this early, we already have some in generation 5. Thanks, -Uplinger |
