Is each result unique?

Are there really that many different proteins produced through the microbiome genetic code or are there duplicates in the mix.

Re: Is each result unique?

Probably re-read Project Overview:

Each of us have [sic] as many as 30 trillion bacteria living in and on our bodies.

The scale of this research is enormous: the microbiome is comprised of about 3 million unique bacterial genes. By comparison, the human body has about 20,000 genes.

In case it's not clear, this project folds (predicts/estimates) proteins of many species of bacteria that lives in and on our bodies. We're not folding human DNA.

Re: Is each result unique?

Few days ago it said they had build a database of now 200K-250K and thus with that knowledge base could better predict how the rest would look. A monkey being being 97% for sure my uncle, that was to be expected.

Re: Is each result unique?

hmmm, need more information. How many threads (WU) run concurrently in BOINC and how many jobs are in your buffer, albeit this is as off topic from the opening post question as off topic can get.

Re: Is each result unique?

Being relatively old, I subscribed to the one gene one protein thesis. I have now had to rethink. We are now at 194 results per gene in our project.
I am now wondering about one protein one function, Please see [url=https://www.quantamagazine.org/one-gene-many-proteins-20160426/]
