Thread: Locked out of fora during stats run |

I've seen this behaviour two nights running now, but I think something similar has been there for a while.
After the midnight stats run has started, I refresh the forum page (list recent threads) and my browser (Firefox) barfs with "This page isn't redirecting properly". If I then try to refresh my contribution page, for example, I get invited to log on. Once I log on, I get told that stats is running, but now I can refresh the forum page and it works properly! So, what's happening? It seems odd that I should be kicked off after exactly 24 hours, when a logged on session used to last much longer than that (with "keep me logged in" ticked). And the browser message implies some sort of cookie problem. So, is there some sort of unintended interaction between the forum pages and the stats run? This issue isn't the end of the world now I know what's happening. But when it first started to occur it felt like I was locked out of the fora while the stats update was in progress, which seemed just wrong. Just reporting what I see ... |

I experienced the samething, but with Chrome. I was thinking it was just Chrome's issue

I've seen this for quite a while. My workaround is I keep a tab with the fora opened and logged in. Otherwise if I click the "forums" link from within My Contribution during an update, I'll have to wait for the update to complete.

I'll have to wait for the update to complete. If happen to get "locked out" found that just wiping every-thing after "https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/" in the address bar and pressing enter shows the initial Home page where you can Login again. This allows access to the fora, no wait for update completion. At least that works here... Edit - thanks VietOZ - I meant press enter but that is not what I typed - updated...

Just want to make it clear:
----------------------------------------In Apis's case he got "This page isn't redirecting properly" with Firefox. In my case I got "You've been redirecting too many times" with Chrome. Both got these messages when click on "Recent Threads". Note: We both were in the forum in order to see and click on that link. Not from My Contribution page and try to access the forum. Tried to refresh, we'll be ask to log in again. |

This will be fixed in our next release that should go out in a week or two. We will post in this thread when the fix has been released.
