Hi All,
I am having my settings only allowing Africa Rainfall Project tasks and I updated my project several times but I am not getting new tasks for some reason. I have Nvidia 1050 Ti and I disabled the other projects and have the option to use GPU always. Are there currently any tasks available or I don't download any simply because there are none? |

Welcome to the fora!
There are very few ARP1 WUs each day at the moment. They are currently distributed at 08 & 38 minutes past the hour. Read elsewhere in the forum for more. There are no GPU projects on WCG at the moment. I always recommend searching the fora before asking a question, but there are usually people around who will try to help. Good luck. |

How is the Africa Rainfall Project not a GPU project? According to the description it should be using GPU for calculations and I know that weather predictions use GPU.

Hi again,
If you look at the System Requirements page, you will see that there is no superscript 4 listed against ANY project and that the definition has been updated to say "4. Version for GPU is available (Open CL 1.1) (Note: Currently no applications have GPU version available.)" And I can find nothing in the description to say that it does use a GPU. However, if you share with us where you found that, the techs may be able to correct it (assuming it's a WCG-owned page). Got any WUs yet? |

I still didn't received a single task from this project although it's the only one ticked in My Projects tab.
To my surprise I wasn't able to find claim that it would use GPU. My only explanation is that I subconsciously misread CPU as GPU so excuse me if this was the case :D... |

Being honest, there are a lot of us who want to use our GPU here as well but there are no WCG projects with GPU enabled. That's why I joined another project (SETI) so my cards can be used for that and my CPU cores be used here. :)

If you don't mind not using the BOINC platform, Folding@home has tons of GPU work available for cancer, Alzheimer's, Huntington's, Parkinson's, Ebola, and other medical things.

I use Folding for GPU work on my machines, and use BOINC for CPU work. That is with both Ubuntu and Windows. You just need to delete the "CPU" slot in the Folding client; otherwise, it will try to use your CPU too. (In fact, you have to do it a couple of times before the Folding client remembers the setting.) There can a few other curiosities in setting it up; ask on the Folding forum and you will get help, but it is quite reliable once set up properly.

I've tried updates around 8 and 38 time slots with no luck for almost a week now. Is there a time of the day GMT when the project tends to put more WUs out for crunching? Hopefully it is not in the middle of the night for me, but that may be the issue why I'm coming up dry on requests for work. Any feedback on this would be much appreciated.
I'm still staying pretty full with the HIV-2 project WUs, but it would be nice to pick up a WU or two a week from this new project as well .... |

Somehow this morning I lucked into 5 ARP units across several machines. They are all on either 8 minutes after or 38 minutes after. It has been a couple of days since I had gotten any. I don't have a cron job set up, I just take them as they come or don't come. I would guess Uplinger still has not implemented the "release at random times" protocol.
