Re: For Current Volunteers: Advance Information on Our Newest Project

They made checkpoints at all - and this is not the worst scenario. :)
Crunching is possible, with "kilotons" of burned electricity just to air, but possible... :)
P.S. I am talking about stationary PC without baterry. It is dangerous to left it alone and attached to electricity network for a long time (thunderbolt, for example). But, NO MATTER, Your idea is good. Thank You!

Has any consideration been given to compiling for AVX-512?

Suspend at checkpoint in BOINCTasks works for me.
It did appear not to work at one time but that may have been my impatience.
Appears to wait 1 minute after checkpoint before suspending and sometimes appears slow to acknowledge request (= prefix in checkpoint field).

adri, I think it would be nice if you had your own thread for you very useful scripts. With tutorials for those of us that can't write scripts but wish to make them do some of the things you post that you can do with them.

Thanks Aurum420; I was just thinking, on Usenet we have certain newsgroups for that purpose, where we help each other.

Re: For Current Volunteers: Advance Information on Our Newest Project

To enable BOINCTasks (or BOINC manager) to manage other PCs they need to accept connections from the remote system.
I have entries in remote_hosts.cfg on each of my PC's of the other PCs on my local LAN to enable BOINC manager or BOINCTasks on any PC to manage them.
This can be changed in-flight then activated by using Options, read config file in BOINC manager on that PC.
The ADSL router has entries for the PCs so they get fixed addresses.

Re: For Current Volunteers: Advance Information on Our Newest Project

You can now, just confirmed, not sure at what version of BOINC it changed.
I have WCG version 7.14.3 here.
Although the message only says "Re-reading cc_config.xml" it clearly also re-read remote_hosts.cfg and listed IPs to use (can also use names, if they can be resolved to IPs).
