I saw someone offers BOINC on Amazon's AWS Marketplace:

They recommend t2.micro service level at $0.074/hr. (I believe this is the cheapest option.)
Each day WCG runs 346 years 94 months and 3 hours of CPU WUs.
That is 3,033,219 run-time-hr/day or $224,458.21 per day or $81,927,245.19 a year.

We philanthropists donate a lot of cash to these researchers. There's nothing "spare" about BOINC.
