With 3 million results predicted and function based on structure, is there any sorting being done at this stage or will you wait until all 3 million are in? It would be interesting to know if extremely similar (or even identical) proteins are produced by different organisms.

The estimate on the description of the project was 3 million genes. Somehow I blanked on the number of results to date,
However the original question remains (only more so). |

I think every batch is a gene. Currently we have crunched around 227000 genes (look at the respective batch number). Every batch usually consists out of around 3000 work units...sometimes up to 25000.
