That would be especially good if one of the four profiles doesn't have any computers hooked to it.

Once it has finished, they will take Zika off of the active projects. Is it still selectable then? By that time, no. I can't select a project that has already finished.

Other finished projects aren't in the select queue though. Your idea was to select it while still active, which seems like a good idea.

They also added some workunits for Smash Childhood Cancer and made it active. They say that one should finish by Sep. or Oct. That won't help the summer though.

Another idea. Only use Help Stop TB. I do that when I am actually trying to get some of them, and they only load a few units per day and sometimes none.

Yet another idea to reduce heat. I am also running units on a laptop, so I have that one set to run projects at half speed. Computing preferences or Tools in BOINC depending on release has a box to set percent of computer time. The laptop is 50%. It takes two seconds to use a second worth of computer time. It would also run the betas at half speed though, but so what? You could also go lower than 50% if you wanted them to crawl.

In any event, you don't want the queue totally stuffed with many days worth of projects or you won't get any betas. Leave some room.
