I guess the reason is, that the workunits are not validated yet. Go to "My Contribution" -> "Result Status" on the website. Choose your Device Name in the dropdown list and Filter for Result status "valid". Probably there will be no results yet. Then filter for result status "Pending Validation". There your already completed workunits will appear. But before you get credit for it, someone else has to complete the workunit again, which may take some days. Click on the workunit name for more info about every workunit.
At some projects, this will always be that way. At others (e.g. Zika) your device will become a trusted device after some time and your units are valid without someone else validating them.

About the Port: I believe server communication should just run over Port 80 http.
