My experience with WCG.

Dear All,
Next year, on March 24th I will celebrate the 10th anniversary of my association with WCG. I have recommended it to many, sad to say that few have accepted to become contributors. Fear of PC viruses is often the pretext forwarded. Well, none of my computers (I'm on my fifth since 2009) have never been hit by any attack coming from WCG. Can't say the same about Microsoft though... To me this is the acid test of how secure and solid the technology behind WCG is and how assured one can feel that our contributions go the way it is announced they go.
I have forgotten how I first got wind of WCG but I will never forget one of the punch lines that was used by then: "Why don't we find the cure for cancer over lunch?". It is still true and count on me to keep donating my unused computer time to such a worthy initiative. And on top the screensavers are beautiful and I have used them often to illustrate scientific concepts (e.g., chormosomes and genes) to the less knowkedgeable ones, including my children when they were very young. Some effect it must have had: my son is studying Informatics Engineering in University and my daughter aims to study either Physics or Aerospatial Engineering, starting next September.
I used to live in Portugal, now I live in Chile. Regardless it is quite agreeable to come back home each evening and find WCG screensavers running on my laptop (yes, I sometimes succumb to the temptation of leaving it on whilst I'm at work...).
Thank you so much to WCG and to IBM Social Responsibility committee for this honour.
I wish WCG many and always fruitful years to come. Thank you!
Best regards,
Paulo
