Has the login expiry time been reduced? [Resolved]

I seem to have to login again multiple times per day now, whereas in the past I could even carry on the next morning most times. I recognise that it's vaguely more secure having a shorter time, but it's not very convenient, and surely there isn't a lot of personal information on this site that needs close protection.

Don't tell me -- corporate guidelines have changed ...

Re: Has the login expiry time been reduced?

I just save my password in chrome and tell WCG remember me. I can type in the web browser and it goes right to my homepage. Maybe your internet cache is full and flushing itself more frequently?

Re: Has the login expiry time been reduced?

I leave several browser tabs open on different pages of the WCG site. An hour or a day later I come back and hit refresh, or scroll backwards or forwards to review the adjacent pages I previously selected. If I have to log in again the sequence is broken (and it's wasting my time just to press enter to log on, or to re-enter options for forward pages which have been overwritten by the logon page). It's just a pain from a usability point of view. I feel like I'm having my wrist slapped for daring to use the site at all.

Re: Has the login expiry time been reduced?

No settings have been changed (since the migration to the new environment a year and a half ago) that would change log in duration.

I would suggest that you use the "Remember Me" feature if you do not want to have to login periodically.

Re: Has the login expiry time been reduced?

Thanks, Kevin. I hadn't noticed that the box was no longer checked, and I've no idea how that happened. I'll put it down to a browser hiccough, and apologise for bothering you.

Possibly, if the cookie gets removed, the remember me choice will be too.
