Sorry if already asked and answered elsewhere. However, why does WCG continue to send work units to 32bit Windows hosts? The project requirements page clearly shows that only 64bit Windows apps are available. Any time my Windows XP virtual machines get work for HSTB, it immediately fails. I really don't want to have to create a profile specifically for this project since it is so hard to get work for. However, I'm sure others would be happy to get those work units on reliable machines that can crunch them.

I do see that on your machine we are seeing the message: couldn't start app: CreateProcess() failed - (unknown error) Which indicates that something is preventing the science application from starting. This could be your antivirus or other security software incorrectly marking the file as unsafe and then blocking the file from running. There are two VM's (both XP 32 bit) on that host that both have the issue. They do not have anti-virus any more whatsoever. They are dedicated to BOINC and HSTB is the only application that fails on these hosts.
----------------------------------------Also, if there is working 32bit Windows applications why doesn't the minimum specs page reflect that? Also, that same host has a Windows 10 VM that is 64bit and runs just fine. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() [Edit 4 times, last edit by Coleslaw at Sep 13, 2018 9:01:08 PM] |

HSTB is running successfully on a number of 32 bit Windows hosts. I have at least 2 Windows 2003 Server hosts as well as at least one Windows 7 32Bit that got HST WUs which would immediately fail. At least a couple more have been recently been replaced with 64bit Windows 10 hosts, but I can't remember to have even one 32bit host successfully crunching HST, EVER... Ralf |

(emphasis mine)https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq Sorry, where are you reading that? Doesn't it say "Windowsยน", where: 1 = "Version for x86 processors is available" ![]() [Edit 3 times, last edit by adriverhoef at Sep 14, 2018 11:11:52 AM] |

Do you want to run Ubuntu VM instead now so you can crunch HSTB (Help Stop TB)?

Do you want to run Ubuntu VM instead now so you can crunch HSTB (Help Stop TB)? I believe the original question related to 32 bit windows hosts and not Ubuntu. Speaking of, I just got one failing on an Asus Transformer book t100 with 32 bit windows 10. Any input, anyone? thank you
