Re: BoincTasks support

Has some other process allocated port 31416? Have you looked at the event log to see if any messages were written indicating that some machine has tried to connect to the boinc process? Do you have a boinc client running on the machine where you are running boinc tasks? If so, have you tried going to Advanced View, click File, then click Select Computer, fill in the hostname and password and see if you can connect from a boinc client bypassing BoincTasks. All the above might help narrow down where the problem might be. If you can't connect from a boinc client then you can rule out BoincTasks as the problem

That was the first thing I checked and all computers have a firewall rule for BOINC 31416. No conflicts.

I can't find any BOINC text file with "event" in its name. I looked in stdoutdae.txt but I don't see anything except:
09-Oct-2018 15:14:48 [---] Config: GUI RPC allowed from any host
09-Oct-2018 15:14:48 [---] Config: GUI RPCs allowed from:
09-Oct-2018 15:14:48 [---] 192.168.1.253 {This is my PC that runs BoincTasks.}
Do you know the name of the file I should look for???

I've never tried that before. I can't connect with another computer, either Win7 or Linux 19. It just says "Disconnected" on the bottom right. Now I can't connect with my local computer. Be better if it asked for static IP instead of Host name. I've tried on computers that I can log into remotely using TightVNC (Win7) or NoMachines (Linux) & are talking to BoincTasks.
