Project Completion Percentage

Hi:
As I am a cruncher in the OpenZika project, I have watching the progress we crunchers are making in completing this project, The percentage seems to be stuck at 33%. Is this an accurate percentage?

Can one of the techs verify this number.

Re: Project Completion Percentage

Hi Clive,

this should be a relatively accurate percentage. What can happen, is that researchers add more work later, so that the percentage completed can even go down.

Not sure how long you have been watching the progress, but the OpenZika project started more than 2 years ago. If you do the math, you will see that it took more than 3 weeks in the past for 1%.

For more details, you can also have a look at KLiK's estimated completion date thread, which he updates regularly:

Re: Project Completion Percentage

They seem to like to update it every time we finish an experiment. We've had two enormous ones in a row. Expect the number to update again once we finish batch 338666.

Re: Project Completion Percentage

Hi:

Okay, I can tell that we are now working on Batch # 326633. I do not know if the batches are numbered sequentially one after another. Assuming they are would mean that there 12,033 batches to crunch through before there is an update on the project completion.

I am aware we do not process things in order. Just noticed we are currently working on batch 332418 so we have moved backwards 6248 batches

As the link says, they wanted to test 5 billion results against 6 million known compounds...but they also received a larger library of (additional) 30 million compounds...so the work increased.

It has happen before with FAAH project...& MCM project...& several others. cool

Re: Project Completion Percentage

We are now crunching a project that has not yet been posted on the Experiments page. Assuming the pattern holds, the project status will be updated very soon.

ZIKA still got a year of running time: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=594738

So no problem, even if we did get more progress lately. cool
