Re: Team top40.nl

Carol Beer
It is rumoured she will be back at the office around 24:00 UTC tonight, working late. Let's wait a little for her re-appearance (after being abroad, you know).

You wrote
Diesel! No! They manipulate with the software
I thought only car manufacturers, at least not the fuel itself they're burning, manipulated their software? Consider this: there is no software in diesel itself.

talking about Finnish: ultimaThule works well with you.
Are you sure, mevrouw Kleine Zeemeermin? — 'cause ultimaThule hasn't returned a workunit since 28-04-2018 (that's over 3 months ago).

Music
Can you name a month with 28 days? Shouldn't be too hard. All months have 28 days in them. — Let's take July then. laughing
On this 31st day of July we are going to have a look at the chart of 31-07-1976 , where the second (and last) hit of Mariska Veres enters the Dutch Top 40 at number 27: Lovin' You. Do you remember Shocking Blue from the 12th day of this month? Mariska was the lead singer of Shocking Blue during the successful career of the band.
Mariska also sang Lovin' You in German. Does this count as proof?
Also a new entry at number 33: The Cats with the song Romance. Let's keep that one for later. wink shhh
So that leaves us with the sleeve of Mariska's vinyl single:

Re: Team top40.nl

frustrated I know that diesel has no software .... just jumped out of my mouth uncensored. Sorry.
I was afraid you would ask me for a drink of diesel .... sick
Sorry about ultimaThule. He had an infection of his big toe, but that should be OK. He works around the clock.
He has 'put me in the shadow'
- which I assume is a Finnish way of saying: I should have written a long time ago.
Well, I'll see if I can drag him out into the Finnish midnight sun thinking

not talking Any other complaints in the top40.nl thread, Captain adriverhoef?

It's just one of these days where everybody setting me right and is picking on me ....
sad crying
Cute music ...

Re: Team top40.nl

Adri, thank you for hosting Base Camp - thank you for your music and for sharing your expert knowledge with us.
When I think about what you have in your head about music I go mute for several seconds shock
Most of all, thank you for digging up all the Carol Beers. I will miss them.
'Talking' with you in more general terms is a choice pleasure as well

Perhaps - if the new and/or deserving team supply remains low - we could make a 3.0 some day.

Did you know that many of these little smileys/emoticons I use come from a Dutch website?

Let stay in touch - here's to you -
there's diesel in the jar

Carol Beer
Carol is back! Back at the bank. She's knockin' at the door of the Bank Manager. She's getting in ... through the door ... and sees ... (watch the video!) confused

I'm wondering, in the end, was it a relief wink for Carol? (played by David Walliams)

After all these experiences with computers that deny almost anything, some issues are popping up: can we trust a computer that says no, is it infected with a virus? Suppose it is infected, this leaves just one important question: can a computer virus make a person cough so much and so badly? sad

Music
This final July 2018 episode has a surprise in store by ... The Cats. I could have chosen so many other new entries by The Cats during this month of July — well, three others — like She Was Too Young on the eighth, or Sure He's A Cat on the fifteenth, or even Romance even today(!), but my final choice is going to be One Way Wind. And as if it was my intention to pick this song as the final one this month — it wasn't —, One Way Wind was their biggest hit (source: Wikipedia), entering the Dutch Top 40 of 31-07-1971 at number 16. The Cats as a group scored 36 hits in 20 years (starting in 1966 with What A Crazy Life peaking at number 14), of which five Dutch number ones: Lea (1968), Why (1969), Marian (1969/70), Where Have I Been Wrong (1970) and Be My Day (1974).
Of course this also means the final vinyl single-sleeve on this last day of July: — With love for music and cats love struck

Captain adriverhoef, I think we're dealing with something much worser than a cough bug,
a ransomware bug,
a Trojan Horse
devilish - it's a clone thing.
It's downright scary to see all those Carol Beer clones, and do you know what?
My thinkpad has begun saying Noooo!
I don't know which entity we should report this to.
Do you? MI5 or MI6? Do they have an MI4 - or perhaps an MI7?
CIA?
FET? It's the Danish Defence Intelligence - no, you should not laugh here not talking
Your Dutch equivalent? Any intelligence? laughing

How about the frontdeskcomputer? worried
Is that OK?

I like The Cats and cats love struck

Re: Team top40.nl

My first 100 years of runtime!

(Now that there is a chance to add a video of a number one hit in the Netherlands that actually is called "100 years", why not grab that opportunity?)
— It reached number 1 in 1975
How lucky can one be?
The first time I am to congratulate someone outside of the bragging thread according to my KLiK principle, it's you Adri smile
You who have a thread of your own so I can make a sliding transition without limits on subjects, length and what have you devilish

Congratulations adriverhoef rose
- very well done by you and your frontdeskcomputer

- these days this one is on repeat

Re: Team top40.nl

It's been awfully long, adriverhoef sad
Believe me, the Netherlands and Dutch is regularly on my mind.
Not only with Base Camp’s GRAND GALLA SNURK CELEBRATION trek
and thunder7's interest in new machines
- he has been observed seen sniffing to particular threads
dealing with high performance gear by the female submarine

but also in my Danish reading group where I as the boss picked the first book:
'June' by Gerbrand Bakker.
I wonder: Does your interest in music leave you time for reading?

Re: Team top40.nl

Yes, exactly, I mean reading books.
I understand.
smile
Maybe my illiteracy as far as music goes is in part caused by me finding it hard
to concentrate on reading while the music it playing
