My APC (American Power Conversion) UPS uninterruptible power supply just beeped and now shows a red L.E.D.
----------------------------------------Been through this before. Time to get a "hot swap". Arghh! I do have the Monster Cable MP PC800 HP HP Computer PowerCenter PC800, Clean Power & Surge Protection power strip. Here I wonder if I should power down and wait until I get the "hot swap"? Edit: Red LED light is now off |

I have no expeience with that particular power strip. What it looks like is that you are only protected from surges. The UPS gives you notice and lets you shut down gracefully or carries you through momentary power outages. The power strip is just to protect you from spikes (overvoltage). So, were I you, I would get the replacement equipment ready to fix the UPS and let it run. Note that I nor the WCG will accept any responsibility for any damage that could happen if you take this suggestion. Or for that matter, dont take this suggestion.

Thanks, I have already ordered the APC Back-UPS ES USB 750VA w/TEL & COAX 120V.
