I don't want to get off topic, but BoincStats (for one) seem to me to treat teams incorrectly. They appear to use user all-time stats instead of all stats from when the user was a member of the team. And our UK team site has some nice features I didn't see elsewhere.
But I was trying to keep it to the minimum that I think helps. It was just my opinion so feel free to disagree (or ignore me altogether). |

What really gets my goat is somebody in a far away country passed a law that affects my fun. And I didn't even get to vote for/against them. I'm not worried about any information out there. I'm not on Facebook I just 2 weeks ago got a cell phone (only use it for computing, No text or calls) anything you find out about me is already public information. ![]() Well, I could also blame US for "f...ing up Internet neutrality with a bad act", but I didn't...EU is at least protecting their citizens from bad corporations & data management...much better then your Senate hearings with Facebook went, I might add! This ia all about WCG going to restrict. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by KLiK at Jun 10, 2018 8:15:31 PM] |

Once again this poster is using language not appropriate for the forums. This poster has been cautioned in the past and has had posts removed due to language. Lack of consequences just facilitates bad behavior.

I think this has been said before, but the only thing that is preventing the stats from being distributed is the fact that we have not yet made the "Data Processing Agreement" DPA available. Feel free to criticize us for not having that ready at the time we had to block anonymous access to the various stats feeds. Once we have resolved that issue - which we are trying to do as fast as possible (but it is going much slower than we want ) - anyone who wants access to the stats will be able agree to the DPA and then they will get credentials that let them retrieve the stats as they did previously. Now - assuming that the above issues are resolved and all of the external sites are able to resume retrieving the stats, I'd like to understand what additional concerns people have. I believe that there is some question about the fact that new users are by default hidden and that existing users can now hide their data. Since user's who are interested in being competitive will be able to make their stats public and those that aren't can keep theirs private, then competition should still be alive and well. Aggregate level information such as total team contribution and total WCG contribution should still be available. Is there additional information that is not at the specific user level (i.e. aggregate level data) that people would need to be able to provide to make competition fun? What could we do (other than making everyone public) so that once people have access to the stats again, the enjoyment that people got from the various use of the stats remains as enjoyable as it was before? That's part of the problem...as some networks only operate on internet (like Gridcoin or Byteball or some other network which supports over donations here) so if they front out a legal firm - they would be stormed by FBI in US or some other agency... How? Every time there's a chance to hit cryptocurrency, the banks do it. https://www.forbes.com/sites/kinetica/2018/05...-healthcare/#264584945f6f ![]() |

Now - assuming that the above issues are resolved and all of the external sites are able to resume retrieving the stats, I'd like to understand what additional concerns people have. I'd like to retrieve my own stats without having my script accessing my password. I thought that was the purpose of "verification code", but clearly either I misunderstood its usage/scope or you (more likely the lawyers) decided it's insufficient protection. Can we have a separate key private to each one's account that can only be used to retrieve stats? Preferably it can also be reset in case of compromise. That's still much better than the possibility of a password that a script has to access being compromised. |

You need to go first by editing your quote of his post! You're so sharp ![]() BladeD. Just corrected it ![]() EDIT: It seems as if I need some kind of babysitter, though [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 11, 2018 6:14:42 AM] |

Never said mine was better. But, I do get to vote against them. Don't really care about "Facebook" as I'm not on it. If I want to keep my data private...I don't tell anyone. Simple ![]() ![]() |
