I probably should know this, but I don't. When is the work unit counted and posted to the "Results Returned" column on the "Statistics by Project" page? Is it when the work unit is validated or when it falls off the list of returned units?
I lack about 16-17 hours to get my 10 year badge. There were about 18 pages of returned work units for the last couple of days. The 18 pages of results have disappeared and I am still lacking 16-17 hours to get over the ten year hump. I am going to put one of my machines and run phase 2 for a day or two and see what happens. If someone could enlighten me as to the answer I would appreciate it. |

You are creditted when the WU is turns valid and the stats have been run, which is twice a day.
----------------------------------------You seeing the WU fall out of view of your work done has nothing to do with when you get creditted. |

Guy has a valid questions, as FAHB is also doing "mini-returns" for the job done...those still calculate as a "good result", even if the WU is not returned...so the next WU is made from last 40% calculated & it continues on... Is the WU with 40% done valid or in-valid? If it's in-valid, how come the calcs are still good for next WU generating? |

You would be creditted for the work done if the result is what the scientists predict.
----------------------------------------You are still creditted for WUs that are invalid, but only a smaller amount compared to a valid WU. The scientists / WCG know that not all WUs will return valid and in expected time. That is why you have calculation points in the WUs and other pairing of your WU crunched to see if the predicted result is the same was what your WU has returned. Sometimes your WU goes to Pend Ver, so another WU can be crunched to double check that your WU result is correct or not. Go to My Contribution on the website to see then the stats are last run compared to your time zone. DonDee, Well Done in getting your 10 yr badge for FA@H2. This reply has absolutely nothing to do with the FAHB part 2 AsyncRE non-trickle experiment. |
