Hello. Does anyone know how to cancel / delete one's WCG account profile? I don't see where one can do this. Thanks.

Sorry, I don't know. Hopefully someone with that knowledge will come along 'shortly'.
But if you want to delete/cancel your own account, could I ask if something has disappointed you here, we4gcphi8? |

Hello. Does anyone know how to cancel / delete one's WCG account profile? I don't see where one can do this. Thanks. There is no way to do that. Your contribution to WCG has been done and will exist for as long as the WCG stats are maintained. All WU stats are tied to a user. You can not undo that. You could change your username, email and password to something easily forgettable and move on. |

If you really want to delete your account, you have to contact the support. Only they can delete your account.

I had an inactive team member who was wondering. Doing so would really be about digital decluttering for them. Not worth contacting support about it.
----------------------------------------Having said that, I do think that just as a matter of principle, one should be able to delete one's account - whatever the website is. But no biggie. Thanks for the answers, though. [Edit 1 times, last edit by we4qcphi8 at May 6, 2018 3:04:44 AM] |

I believe that:
----------------------------------------Deleting your inactive team member's account would mean that your team will lose any Points, Results, Run Time and other statistics generated by that team member. EDIT: It could be that I'm wrong, so I've inserted "I believe that ..." [Edit 1 times, last edit by adriverhoef at May 7, 2018 11:08:36 AM] |

I don't believe adriverhoef.
----------------------------------------Stats are acquired for the team, even if the member leaves the team. "The statistics that you have contributed to this team will stay with that team." So I imagine that an account deleted is the same. |

Guys, no need for playing with riddles. Just check WCG Terms of Use https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/endUser.jsp and go to point 10:
----------------------------------------You may terminate this agreement with IBM at any time by providing written notice to IBM in accordance with Section 19 below. And the Section 19 says: [...]You may provide notice to IBM by our “Contact Us” feature. So, as Saphir12 mentioned, the OP should simply go to https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/viewContactUs.do and drop a message saying that he would like to cancel his account. BTW, WCG ToS says that in this case the username is deactivated, but all the User Content (including, but not limiting to forum posts) will be retained, so do not worry about losing any points by team. ![]() |
