Hi! I had some CPID split trouble about 2 weeks ago. Right after I had it fixed I noticed that boincstats.com doesn't display all my newly gained daily points.
Right now My Contribution page here on WCG website shows 467,674 points whereas boincstats, free-dc and statseb.fr all show 66,881 points for my account. Here is a screenshot from My Contribution page: I also downloaded the user.xml stats from https://download.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/stats/user.gz and it shows 66881 points. Why the difference between WCG website points and the user.xml points? |

Present implementation of GDPR will make the difference only greater... Totally different issue...He is/was wondering about the numbers on WCG vs BOINC, and that is the mentioned 7:1 ratio, carried over on WCG from the pre-BOINC days IIRC. The GDPR now results that WCG is on of those projects that were there are no stats transferred AT ALL, and 7x0 (zero) is still 0 (zero)... Ralf |

Since the introduction of GDPR I scored some 40k credits (according to the boinc manager), but they do not show on any of the stats sites, so the discrepancy between what WCG reports and what the stats sites are reporting is getting bigger.

WCG seems to be the only project making this GDPR into being a big problem! There is no reason to Not let everything be as it was before..... ![]() |

If WCG have the opinion that they can no longer share information with BOINC they should leave BOINC, not just benefit from the work done by the BOINC members and share nothing back.
Personally I think that BOINC should kick out WCG from their community, sheering should go both ways. Are you fine with this behavior than stay with WCG, if not than leave WCG and maybe put a little pressure on them and show them that they can not just ignore a grop of their members and believe that they just will accept that. https://boincstats.com/en/forum/5/11967,1#147251 |

Realize that the greater BOINC world outside of Europe has not woken up yet to what's required, though think WCG went thoroughly over the top. Shoot first, ask later. Not being able to import/extract your own data with all the account/verification key codes already in place "having to contact WCG for yet another key code", is a joke pur sang.

GDPR was designed to stop data being clandestinely collected & traded around without our knowledge. It will fail in this purpose but that's not a surprise or a disaster.
What is a disaster is if WCG go way over the top and stop exporting data to Boincstats etc. This amounts to a de facto secession from BOINC. WCG should either get back in step or officially get out. My total runtime for WCG is 141 years but I'm ceasing work for WCG until this is sorted. I suggest that everyone else does likewise. It's all the more ludicrous as the data WCG is refusing to share is all on the website and anyway is strictly speaking not personal data as there is nothing there to say who I actually am. Megacruncher is not my real name! |
